Terms of Service

A Carve History registration is a commemorative record in a private registry maintained by Carve History. It associates a name or dedication you choose with one individually identified element of a landmark, together with a permanent Stone ID and Registry Number.

A registration conveys no ownership, property rights, naming rights, access rights, or any other legal interest in the physical landmark or in any stone. Nothing is altered, carved, or placed at the landmark. Carve History is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Park Service or any government agency.

You are responsible for the name and dedication text you submit, and you confirm you have the right to use them. We may decline or remove content that is unlawful, abusive, impersonating, commercial advertising, or otherwise inappropriate for a public commemorative registry. Registry pages are public and permanent unless you ask us to release the registration.

Stones are registered on a first-come basis and a held stone is reserved only for the duration of checkout. Some geometry is documented from historical sources and some is carefully reconstructed; the site indicates which. We correct records when better documentation emerges, but permanent identifiers do not change.

Prices are shown at checkout in US dollars and are confirmed by our server at the moment you pay. Shipping for framed items is calculated per order. Discount codes are subject to their own limits and expiration.

Digital Registry purchases are final sale and not refundable, because the registration and printable certificate are delivered immediately. Returns and refunds for physical framed items are covered by our Shipping & Refunds policy.

The registry and its materials are provided as they are. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carve History is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the registration in question.
